The Birth of Jesus
Read: Luke 2:6-7
Special verses: And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. – Luke 2:6-7
Discuss: Bethlehem was so crowded that Mary and Joseph could not find a place to stay. So when it came time for Jesus to be born, they had to make do. A manger is a trough that animals would eat or drink from. How do you think Mary and Joseph felt, laying their baby in a manger? What kind of bed do you think the people of Bethlehem would have prepared if they knew a King were coming? Do you know the story of your birth or adoption? Do you know how your family prepared for your arrival?
